The castle Branitz

Blechen's works can be found in many major museum collections. Cottbus, the city of his birth, started a collection of his works in 1913 and these can now be viewed in Schloss Branitz (3). Some of Blechen's most important works which can be seen in Cottbus include: Kreidefelsen auf Rügen ("Chalk Cliffs on Rügen Island") (1828, painted shortly before his departure for Italy), Sorrent (1829), Zwei Mönche im Park von Terni ("Two Monks in Terni Park") (1829) and two landscapes form the Berlin region, Waldweg am Wasser ("Forest Path by the Water") and Waldinneres mit abgebrochenen Ästen ("Forest Interior with Broken Branches") (around 1835).
